The Netflix broadcaster’s idea to prevent the most loyal subscribers from being attacked by other users to get their hands on their respective accounts
Something new in sight for Netflix subscribers. But this time it will not be about increases in subscriptions or uncomfortable situations, as happened recently with the increase in the price of the platform in search of stability and new numbers.
Netflix to the rescue of its subscribers (web source)
The famous broadcaster of TV series and streaming movies has launched a new function, with a precise intention. To avoid the absolute and often stolen sharing of Netflix accounts, in order to curb the wave of “free riders”.
The novelty in question is designed with security in mind and will allow subscribers to view all the devices connected to their account and decide whether or not to disconnect each of them remotely.
How to disconnect your or other devices from your Netflix account
A few simple and quick steps for this new function. Just go to your Netflix account section through the web view. Then click on the new Manage access and devices function.
In this area it will be possible to quickly identify which devices are connected to your Netflix account and decide which ones to keep “alive” and which ones to cancel to avoid overlapping viewing and above all to ensure that an unwanted person is using the subscription without paying anything. The new mode will soon also arrive on iOS and Android devices, thus offering optimal management even on the go.
Going forward, account holders will receive new login notifications via email. The new feature will be particularly useful for those who subscribe to Netflix’s cheapest plans, namely Basic and Basic with Ads, which allow access to only one device at a time. Also, after logging out of an unknown device, Netflix recommends that you change your password for added security, but you are not required to do so.
