Is ‘1899’ Season 2 Happening On Netflix?

First and foremost, Netflix has officially canceled the series 1899. There will be no more seasons of the show. Despite the fact that more seasons have been planned, this is disappointing news for the show’s fans who have been waiting for more stories.

There is now lots of speculation that the cancellation has been caused by the series’ budget. It is one of the most expensive German series ever produced. The first season’s budget is estimated to be $62.2 million. However, it was unquestionably a success among the spectators.

Co-showrunners Bo Odar and Friese revealed the news on Odar’s Instagram account to the followers.

“With a heavy heart, we have to tell you that 1899 will not be renewed. We would have loved to finish this incredible journey with a 2nd and 3rd season as we did with Dark. But sometimes things don’t turn out the way you planned.

That’s life. We know this will disappoint millions of fans out there. But we want to thank you from the bottom of our hearts that you were a part of this wonderful adventure. We love you. Never forget.”

Lucas Lynggaard Tønnesen also tweeted about the series cancelation penning, “As a lot of you may already know… 1899 will not be renewed for a 2nd and 3rd season… We are all truly devastated by this fact.

This photo was taken the first night I met these people. You can take away the show, but you can’t take away family. Thank you all for watching.”

What Season 2 Of ‘1899’ Might Have Looked Like?

Though the show was canceled, there were already theories in the works, and the crew had previously mentioned the possibility of a narrative of season two and what it might have looked like.

Bo Odar described to second act as “all about the fun and games, where you play with the theme, and maybe get a little bit more megalomaniacal and crazy, and then resolve it in the third season into a hopefully satisfying resolution.”

Yuk Je actor Gabby Wong teased to an outlet, “I don’t know if it’s that wild a theory, but every single person that you see in the final scene is there for a reason. Even though you might not have gotten any answers or any elaborate elaboration of it in season one, every single person in that room is there for a reason…

I read the final episode at four o’clock in the morning while I was breastfeeding my son at the time who was a newborn, and I think I punched my husband. That was my reaction. I punched my husband and punched him awake. Oh, that’s the ending!”
