Viola Davis is one of the most acclaimed and well-known artists today, and when the nominees for the 2023 Grammy Awards were announced, the actress was singled out in one category.
Davis is up for best audiobook recording, voice-over, and narrative for “Finding Me,” and if he wins, he’ll earn coveted EGOT status. She already has a Tony Award and an Oscar for “A Boundary Between Us” (or “Fences,” in the original), as well as an Emmy for “How to Get Away with Murder.”
The winners will be announced on February 5, 2023.
Remembering that Davis’ last foray into filmmaking was with the lauded historical epic “The Woman King.”
The story is inspired by real events that occurred in the kingdom of Dahomey, one of the most powerful on the African continent, between the 18th and 19th centuries, and accompanies Nanisca (Davis), the general of a female military army who fights against the forces that threaten to destroy your people.
