Bella Hadid enhanced her visit to the 2022 Cannes Film Festival with two total vintage looks, just as Leighton Meester recently returned to the red carpet with an archive creation by Prada. It shows that stars have a penchant for vintage looks.
By now, it’s become clear that even celebrities have a thing for vintage. Why wear new clothes when you can recycle what you already have in your wardrobe? And why not bring some clothes worn once for an important occasion back to life? In the interest of sustainability, Hollywood stars have made their position clear on circular fashion that is greener and does not harm the planet.

The example comes from any red carpet. Even Kate Middleton, since her tenure at court, has shown a penchant for glamorous recycling by coming up with the same dress multiple times for different occasions. And the same thing happens to the stars. For example, Leighton Meester treated himself to a rare red carpet appearance with hubby Adam Brody for the premiere of the upcoming Fleishman Is in Trouble miniseries. And, for the occasion, the famous actress of Gossip Girl proposed a vintage look.
The stars like it vintage
Leighton Meester showed that you can be glamorous by indulging in circular fashion. On the red carpet, the actress wore a vintage Prada gown, a black velvet sheath dress covered in embossed floral appliqués chosen with stylist Jamie Mizrahi. And what about Bella Hadid, who enchanted the Cannes Film Festival by wearing two totally vintage creations. Impossible to forget, for the 2022 edition, the white dress with cut-out details by Gucci, an iconic model of the 90s. As well as the total black dress by Gianni Versace, spring/summer 1987 collection.

Zendaya also joined the Valentino family as a best man and on the red carpet for the Euphoria 2 premiere she wore a vintage look from the house: a long black and white striped dress first shown in 1992 worn by Linda Evangelista. And what about the controversial dress worn by Kim Kardashian at the Met Gala 2022, taken from the archives of dresses that belonged to Marilyn Monroe? The influencer found himself at the center of a lively controversy, sparked by various accusations, first of all that of ruining an archival piece of inestimable value.

Even Dua Lipa has a penchant for vintage looks, as evidenced by the 2022 Grammy Awards rede carpet. The pop star wore a Versace dress, but from the 1992 collection. And Lindsay Lohan’s return to the stage is very recent.

The actress, star of a Christmas comedy for Netflix, offered an extremely vintage look for her interview with Good Morning America, in tunes of the 70s. The colorful costume is signed Akris but unlike the previous ones, it has no only a retro inspiration since it is part of the brand’s 2022 collection. Emma Stone instead recycled one of her wedding dresses for the Met Gala 2022. The wedding, celebrated in 2020, involved several wedding dresses. One of them, the shortest, was also adapted for the red carpet.
