‘True Blood’: HBO Big Boss reveals details on reboot development

In an interview with TVLine, HBO boss Casey Bloys spoke about the reboot of “ True Blood, ” revealing that the project is still in the early stages of development and will not be released in the near future.

Plus, Bloys ensured he wanted to have the right story for the new version.

“There is still no imminent green light for the restart. I wouldn’t say it’s as fair as the Game of Thrones spin-off [intitulado ‘House of Dragon’]. We definitely have a screenwriter working on an idea, but I think it’s fair to say that the project is not as advanced as people think. The reboot will not be released next year. It’s much more than that.

He adds: “We’ll have to see what the new version looks like. As with any project, you need to see if it’s a story worth telling. It’s interesting? Does this add anything to the original series? We’ll see.”

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa (‘The Dark World of Sabrina‘ and ‘Riverdale‘) will be responsible for the reboot’s script alongside Jami O’Brien (‘NOS4A2’)

Alan Ball, creator of the original series, will return as executive producer.

Aired in Brazil by HBO on Sundays and on Open TV, the series had 7 seasons aired between 2008 and 2014.

“True Blood” showed the coexistence of vampires and humans in Bon Temps, a small fictional town located in Louisiana.
