Amid speculation that Henry Cavill will return as Superman, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that the project that will bring the first black Superman is still in production.
The project is produced by JJ Abrams, who has had most of his Warner productions canceled, including “Zatanna” and “Constantine.”
Ta-Nehisi Coates (“Black Panther”) will write the project, which will be in line with “Joker” – with no connection to the DCEU.
Last year, Warner sat down with Michael B. Jordan (“Creed”) and the actor shared his vision for the superhero future.
Despite negotiations, the actor warned the studio that he would only agree to commit to the role of Superman if he realized the studio’s own true commitment to the character.
Have fun watching:
In an interview with presenter Oprah Winfrey, Jordan revealed which version of Man of Steel he would like to see in theaters.
He said he would rather play Calvin Ellis (the Earth-23 Superman) than play Clark Kent:
“It’s complicated. I hate being a businessman and understanding both sides of the story. There’s a huge upside to that, but being under that microscope and being compared to so many different versions of Superman…I I would like to do something original I would be Calvin Ellis There is another Superman from Earth-23 a variant […] in another dimension which is black in the comics… It exists.
