After new information from Variety, which talked about the addition of James Gunn and Peter Safran to DC Studios, we also had news of the sequel to “Batman”, where you can see the first predictions for the feature film.
According to the report, Matt Reeves did not deliver the final version of the script for the sequel. That is, it is possible that the new production will hit theaters only in 2025. During this time, the director should release spin-off series, such as “Penguin” and “Arkham Asylum” from HBO Max.
The team had meetings with different writers and directors to decide what the Rogues Gallery would be, both established and darker. There are discussions involving Scarecrow, Clayface, and Professor Porko. All of these projects are in their early stages.
“Batman 2” will be written by Reeves and Mattson Tomlin.
On his resume, Mattson has Netflix’s “The Beast of the Sea” and “Project Power,” as well as the sci-fi “Mother x Androids.”

Now that the sequel is taking shape, an Instagram user has shared beautiful fan art imagining the hero’s costume with a subtle update, giving a gold outline to the symbol on his chest and parts of the armor.
In the caption, he asks:
“’Batman II’. What kind of costume change would you like to see in the sequel? »

For now, plot details are kept in the Batcave. It’s still unclear if the sequel will feature The Joker, the classic Batman foe teased in the final moments of Reeves’ film and played by Barry Keoghan.
The news comes after the director signed an exclusive deal with Warner Bros. Discovery.
Reeves and his production company 6th & Idaho already had an exclusive deal with Netflix. However, having directed Batman and worked on Batman 2 and The Penguin, it makes sense to focus directly on Warner Bros.
In addition to the Penguin series, an Arkham Asylum spin-off will explore the past of the Joker (Barry Keoghan), who appeared briefly in the adaptation starring Robert Pattinson.
