Stallone won’t see Creed 3: the actor didn’t mince his words

The disagreements between Sylvester Stallone and Irwin Winkler are not going to be settled, even though more than 20 years have passed, the bad mood is still so strong that Sylvester Stallone will never watch Creed 3.

Sylvester Stallone returned in a recent interview to talk about the rights to the Rocky saga that would belong to him, because the idea for these films was his. But unfortunately we know, the tricks are always found and for an unknown legal right of Sly, the story is quite different.

In fact, the copyrights to Rocky belong 100% to the producers of the films Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff. The second died in 2015, while the first, with a tougher temper, despite his 91 years, still refuses to give back to Stallone what is rightfully his.

Rocky’s character is famous all over the world. The story of the simple, pure-hearted boxer full of ideals such as family, hard training and honesty, years later, continues to fascinate entire generations. Sylvester Stallone not only (literally) put his face on as a performer, he also wrote the plot himself. The two producers Irwin Winkler and Robert Chartoff, who had certainly foreseen the business from the beginning, by a bureaucratic ruse, succeeded in obtaining the rights of the franchise Rocky then of Creed, unanimously.

So, even if Sylvester Stallone received more than adequate compensation for each of his individual interpretations, he does not have the rights and has not seen a single euro since this saga. Despite attempts Stallone has made over the years in hopes of being seen as equal to both producers, to this day, only they hold the winnings from this series. Once Winkler dies as well, his children will pull the reins in their favor and poor Sly will be left with nothing.

Sylvester Stallone is furious and certainly won’t be able to have any more kind words for Irwin Winkler, who despite his age doesn’t want to hear about giving the credits that Stallone is due. In this regard, Sylvester has decided that he will not appear in any Creed or Rocky that will be produced from now on.

When the reporter asked him whether or not Stallone would see the next Creed 3 in theaters soon, Sly replied as follows:

“Never. And it has nothing to do with Michael B. Jordan being a great guy or the studio that produced him being great. It’s just that for me it was a ride with a lot of “Emotions and it still is. If Michael B. Jordan comes up with a new story for Creed 4, I’d be happy to join in, as long as that other one isn’t involved.”

What Sylvester Stallone would love is to be able to say to his children, “The thing is, I’m not interested in money, but I want to leave a legacy for my children. I wrote this and it would be nice to be able to tell them, it’s up to you guys. I have beautiful children, a beautiful wife, when I’m gone it will be yours. But all this will not happen. I can’t forgive him.”
