In his most recent work, Sylvester Stallone plays a gangster in the series “Tulsa King”, created by Taylor Sheridan, responsible for the famous “Yellowstone”.
The plot follows mobster Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone), who is released from prison after 25 years and is exiled by his boss to the city of Tulsa. Realizing that his mafia family may not have their best interests in mind, Dwight slowly creates a “team” with an unlikely group of people to help him establish a new criminal empire.
And, Vincent Piazza (“Boardwalk Empire”), one of the cast members, told Comic Book that he was looking forward to starring on the show for a very eccentric reason.
Piazza plays Vince Antonacci, henchman of the Invernizzi, one of the crime families in the plot, who ends up being attacked by Manfredi.
But it seems getting hit by Stallone has always been a dream for Piazza.
Take the time to watch:
“The real reason I signed on to ‘Tulsa King’ was to get punched by Stallone. 100% true. I mean, I couldn’t help but laugh the second I read the script and I was like, ‘What? This role is going to be mine,” Piazza said.
He continued:
“Now I’m part of a fraternity of people who were beaten by Sylvester Stallone. How could I say no to this job? But of course I was also looking forward to working with director Terry Winter and actors like AC Peterson and old friends like Domenick Lombardozzi, Chris Calvino and Max Casella. I was like, this is going to be an adult summer camp. It’s going to be a blast.”
A very unusual dream, isn’t it?
