Fortunately each of us at home has a bathroom, with a toilet connected to the sewers, so no one now has a cesspool or even a septic tank, but unfortunately even the drains connected to the sewer system can have problems such as the rise of bad smells. In most cases these depend on a siphon problem. To better understand each other, here are some general notions about the siphon. The siphon is a fundamental element of bathroom pipes.
Its U-shape is not at all random, in fact it is specially designed to allow the collection of a small part of the water in the handle (lower part of the siphon). The peculiarity of this instrument lies precisely in the fact that, thanks to the water, it is possible to prevent the bad odors that can return, in the form of gas, from the sewers through the pipes. Odors are not only caused by human excrement, but can also be due to other factors, let’s see some of them together.
First, we can count shaving and hair residues among those responsible for bad odors (even if they may seem innocuous, I can assure you that by accumulating, they become a real den of bacteria). In addition, we must also mention organic matter such as nails or cuticles, but also small residues of soap, shampoo or detergents. All this waste inevitably tends to accumulate, creating a kind of “ball”, which obviously cannot pass the bend of the siphon, due to its large size, so it remains there in the pipes, capturing all types of residues and degrades causing the very annoying bad smell.
The most appropriate remedy in these cases is the use of a liquid disgorging agent or a common gel, which will be able to “burn” the organic residues in the pipes, dissolving this huge ball, so as to allow the regular and natural flow of water and consequently the disappearance of unpleasant odors. The use of these products is very simple, but nevertheless they should not be underestimated and handled with care.
As these are still chemicals, it is therefore important to take small precautions. Sometimes, however, this is not enough, indeed, if your objective is not only to eliminate bad odors, but also to perfume your toilets, not only do we not want bad odors to escape, but also make our bathroom smell great you can rely on the abilities of a couple of amazing things I’m referring to borax and lemon juice believe me just as simple as it is effective seeing it is to believe.
