“Pinocchio”: listen to “Ciao Papa”, original song from the new animation by Guillermo del Toro

Netflix has released a new promotional video for “Pinocchio,” a stop-motion version directed by acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro, featuring the original song “Ciao Papa.”

Production is scheduled for December 9 on the streaming platform.

On Rotten Tomatoes, production kicked off with a rare 100% approval rating, with a very high 8.90/10, based on 22 reviews to date.

Del Toro is also on board as scriptwriter for the stop-motion version, based on the animated classic created by Carlo Collodi.

The plot will take place in Italy in the 1930s, a particularly charged historical moment, at a time when fascism was on the rise and Benito Mussolini was consolidating control of the country.
