Netflix has released a new promotional video for “Pinocchio,” a stop-motion version directed by acclaimed director Guillermo del Toro, featuring the original song “Ciao Papa.”
Production is scheduled for December 9 on the streaming platform.

The cast includes Gregory Mann as Pinocchio; Ewan McGregor as Jiminy Cricket; and David Bradley as Geppetto.
Tilda Swinton, Christoph Waltz, Finn Wolfhard, Cate Blanchett, John Turturro, Ron Perlman, Tim Blake Nelson and Burn Gorman round out the cast.
Del Toro is also on board as scriptwriter for the stop-motion version, based on the animated classic created by Carlo Collodi.
The plot will take place in Italy in the 1930s, a particularly charged historical moment, at a time when fascism was on the rise and Benito Mussolini was consolidating control of the country.
