Not much is known about the “Penguin” series yet, but star Colin Farrell has revealed something important for us to know where the plot will unfold. According to Farrel, production begins a week after the final events of the ‘Batman’ movie, after the city floods.
Farrell, in an interview with Collider, reaffirmed his affection for the DC villain and spared no praise for Lauren LeFranc, who serves as the project’s writer and showrunner. He also revealed that the episodes should last up to six to eight hours and gave a little spoiler of what we might see in the first few minutes.
“Gotham is still, a little, under water. I read the first script for the first episode and it starts with my feet splashing on Falcone’s desk.”
Colin Farrell had very positive reactions as Penguin and, following his remarks, wanted to be more and more like the character. According to Deadline, the plot of the series will be “Scarface-like”, expanding on Oswald Cobblepot’s rise within what has become a criminal empire.
