According to Deadline, Kim Cattrall (‘Sex and the City’) was cast for the comedy ‘How I Met Your Father’, a spinoff series of ‘How I Met Your Mother’.
The actress will be the narrator of the production, playing a more adult version of Sophie, the character of Hilary Duff.
The plot takes place in the near future, where Sophie (Hilary Duff) tells her son the story of meeting his father. The story will take us back to the year 2021, where we will follow Sophie and her group of friends – Jesse (Chris Lowell), Valentina (Francia Raisa), Charlie (Tom Ainsley), Ellen (Tien Tran) and Sid (Suraj Sharma). ) -, who are trying to figure out who they are, what they want out of life and how to fall in love in an age full of dating apps and limitless options.
The series was created by Isaac Aptaker and Elizabeth Berger (“This Is Us”).
Carter Bays and Craig Thomas, creators of the original series, will executive produce the spin-off.
The production, which will feature 10 episodes, does not yet have a release schedule.
