The Big Little Lies has not been confirmed yet. This is because of many reasons. In an interview with TVLine, HBO president Casey Bloys commented, “I love this group of people … I would do anything with them … But the reality is, they are some of the busiest actresses working in Hollywood.”

Furthermore, the series’ cancellation has been virtually guaranteed since the original director Jean-Marc Vallée passed away in late 2021. However, all hope has not been lost. Nicole Kidman said, “There is always talk of trying to do a season 3.”

“We have some ideas,” Kidman later added. “Liane Moriarty has some suggestions. David [Kelley], the showrunner, has some thoughts. [Director of Season 1] Jean-Marc Vallee has some thoughts. Everyone has an idea. There’s enough content there.”

Big Little Lies season 2 ended on a cliffhanger, with Bonnie making the decision to come clean about shoving Perry down the stairs that fateful night. The story appeared to be coming to an end when the Monterey Five were finally set free from their big lie.

Madeline and Ed had renewed their vows and were ready to move on. Celeste was allowed to stay with her children, Renata was finally freed from her ranch-betting husband Gordon, and Jane started to open up to Corey after some trying interactions.

However, the new season, if happening, could focus on Perry’s story. Because Kravitz’s Bonnie was the first to push Perry that night, and thus the story could take a ride of what happens now that she has confessed. What path will her story take?
