Horimiya has been the ‘it-girl’ of romance animes since it released. It has left us all swooning over the chemistry of the popular girl, class representative Kyouko Hori, and the bespecled, shy-looking Izumi Miyamura. Their story starts with the surprise of Hori discovering the shy-looking guy has tattoos and piercings, and from then on starts the story of friendship, fascination, and love that makes us all yearn for that one high school crush.
The series was good not only because it didn’t rush the romance, but everything felt real and sweet. The show garnered quite a fanbase, and thus after the initial season, a second season was also released showing the extra moments in between the original series. But we want more. Let’s see if Horimiya season 3 is in the works.

Horimiya Season 3 Release Date Speculation
While we would all love to see a return of our favorite Hori and Miyamura, it might not be in the cards. There has been no announcement of a third season from the showrunners, and therefore, it may not be happening.
The main reason for this is the lack of material. The first season itself covered the main plotline present from the manga it was adopted from, and the rest of the leftover moments were covered in season 2. Therefore, there has been no material left to uncover in their love story.
However, if there might is a chance, we might get to see an OVA based on the final few chapters of the manga, which would be a great way to say farewell to our favorite characters. Horimiya season 3 might be released by the end of 2024 at the earliest if the showrunners decide to go ahead with it.
What To Expect From Horimiya Season 3?
The show Horimiya has a wonderful premise of two students who are opposites, living secret lives that make them unique. While the premise itself might not be that engaging, it is how it is executed by the writers and the showrunners that makes it the brilliant experience it is.
Even when Hori and Miyamura are dealing with conflicts, they remain close and confident. The love confession takes time, but when it is confessed, there is no second guessing. It is surprisingly hilarious yet has genuine moments of tearing up. The second season expanded on their emotional growth from high school, to the adult world with those problems.
With season 3, the show might go with that approach. As it has never relied on petty arguments or fights to build up the plot. We can therefore expect quality and love from our favourite characters as they move forward if Horimiya season 3 is on the cards.
