The amazing series ‘Death In Paradise’ is officially getting a spin-off show titled ‘Beyond Paradise’. The official release date and other details about this upcoming spin-off series have already been confirmed.
DI Humphrey Goodman arrives in Devon. However, given the high level of crime things may be extremely loud than anticipated. And there will be a lot of chaos and new things to discover. This show, despite being a spin-off series, will be exceptional.
Beyond Paradise’s team is fully committed. Characters from Death in Paradise will be reprising their roles too. Let’s get to know more about the release date.
Beyond Paradise is set to be released on February 24, 2023. It will be available to stream on BBC One.
Tony Jordan said, “It’s got the same uplifting escapism as Death in Paradise, and a puzzle to work out in every episode.
The way we differentiate it is, it’s not always murder, and the way we do our reveal has changed. We’ve taken the good stuff, and we’ve added to it, and made it slightly different.”
Kris talked about reprising the role in the spin-off series. The statement reads, “I had the best time playing Humphrey out in Guadeloupe and whilst I was delighted that he got his happy ending with Martha, I always wanted to know what happened next.”
Kris added, “So it’s a joy to be putting his crumpled jacket back on and seeing how life has panned out for him back in the UK.
Working with Sally is a dream, and I can’t wait to continue Humphrey and Martha’s story and solve a few seemingly impossible mysteries along the way.”
‘Beyond Pardise’ Plot Is Revealed
The streaming platform of this upcoming spin-off also revealed the official narrative. There’s going to be a whole new adventure with the oldies.
The official synopsis reads, “A new adventure awaits as we find them arriving in Shipton Abbott, Martha’s hometown near the beautiful Devonshire coast, having left London.
As they embark on their new life, the couple is quickly thrown in at the deep end as Martha sets out to pursue her dream of running her own restaurant and Humphrey joins the local police force.
Quickly making an impression on the somewhat eclectic team; DS Esther Williams [Zahra Ahmadi], PC Kelby Hartford [Dylan Llewellyn], and Margo Martins [Felicity Montagu], Humphrey sets out to help crack a host of baffling cases, with the Shipton Abbott squad witnessing a whole new approach to police work.
Each week the team will be faced with a new crime with a unique puzzle at its heart. The not-so-sleepy town of Shipton Abbott will be rocked by an entire family disappearing without a trace, a woman claiming she was attacked by a suspect from the seventeenth century, the robbery of a highly prized painting, a body bizarrely discovered in a crop circle, and a serial arsonist with a seeming distaste for local businesses.”
‘Beyond Paradise’ Is Going To Be A Complete Different Show
Jordan confirmed that the original series and the spin-off will be different. They are actually doing stuff to make it a different show.
“Yeah, definitely. Tim’s brief for the show was really cool. It was: ‘What we need is exactly the same as Death in Paradise, and completely different from Death in Paradise!’
We’re not purposely avoiding comparisons, because there will always be comparisons, but we’re doing things that will make it a different show.
We’re not ruling out murders and we’ll have them when someone kills someone! Then Humphrey will investigate it.
But we want to do different types of crime because that’s really interesting. It allows you to go to different places and stops you from being tied so rigidly to a certain format.”
