“Sonic 2 – The Movie”: the actor of “Criminal Minds” and “SWAT” joins the cast; Look at the picture!

Shemar Moore, who directed “Criminal Minds” and now stars in “SWAT”, has joined the cast of “Sonic 2 – The Movie”.

It’s unclear exactly what role Moore will play in the next film, but as the photo shows alongside actors James Marsden and Tika Sumpter, it’s safe to assume that he’s not just a voice actor like Ben Schwartz, who gives the voice to Sonic.

The official synopsis for ‘Sonic 2 – The Movie’ has been posted on the official US Copyright Office site and gives some very interesting information about the sequel.

As has been speculated, the new movie will bring Knuckles as a villain along with Dr. Robotnik, while Sonic will team up with Tails to stop the duo from trying to take over the world.

“After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is ready for more freedom, and Tom (James Marsden) and Maddie (Tika Sumpter) agree to leave him at home while they go on vacation. But as soon as they leave, Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) returns, this time with a new partner: Knuckles. The duo search for an emerald who has the power to build and destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own companion, Tails, and together they get together. embark on a journey to find the emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

Previously, a Twitter page devoted to the news of the adaptation aired the first images of Tails (the fox) and Knuckles (the red echidna), two of the most famous sprinters in the game franchise.

According to the comic, Jason Momoa (“Game of Thrones“, “Aquaman“) was asked to voice Knuckles, who in the games becomes an ally of the swift blue hedgehog.

The character in the film will be true to his portrayal in the video game series, which means he’ll be a serious character, and Paramount believes Momoa is perfect for the role.

“For the first movie, we were just looking at the 1991 game and seeing where it all started to keep it simple. We really tried to understand Sonic and Robotnik well and create their rivalry. We tell the origin story a bit, making everyone fall in love with him as a character and ask for more. And so, now we can open up and bring in some of these other characters that fans know and love. And yes, I mean, no one is more excited than me to have this opportunity. Fowler told ComicBook.

Remember that Ben Schwartz (“Parks and Recreation”) voices Sonic. The cast of the original film also includes Jim Carrey, Adam Pally, and Neal McDonough. Directed by Jeff Fowler.
