Women’s History Month | 12 admins you need to know

March is the month we celebrate women’s history, with International Women’s Day being celebrated on March 8. And it is clear that, in honor of the importance they bring to each of the sectors of society – and their journeys full of obstacles and lack of opportunities – CinePOP would not fail to honor the great names of the entertainment industry.

For this, we have separated twelve directors who must be known, whether in the cinema or on television. From Ava DuVernay to Vera Egito, we also take the opportunity to discuss her most famous projects.

Main works: Selma, Olhos que Condden

Ava DuVernay became the first black female director to be nominated for an Oscar for her incredible and underrated work on “Selma”. Always bringing representativeness to his acclaimed works, DuVernay was also responsible for the powerful “ Eyes that Condemn ” miniseries, which crudely portrays the politics and corruption behind the American justice system, and is the main name of the “ New Gods ” to come.
