‘Willow’ series that will follow the classic hires a new director

According to THR, Jonathan Entwistle, known for his work on the series ‘The Fucking End of the World’ and ‘I Am Not Okay With It’, has been hired to helm the sequel to the ‘Willow’ series. – On Earth da Magia ‘, the classic fantasy film from Lucasfilm.

“With her epic world of swords, witchcraft and adventure, ‘Willow’ has captivated and influenced many people,” Entwistle said in a statement. “I’m excited to continue this journey and to work with Jon and Wendy to create something that respects the original film and also adds something new, funny and charming to the beloved story. To be able to step into this world so meticulously created by Ron in 1988 is a dream come true for me.

He joined the creative production team, which also includes showrunners and executive producers Jonathan Kasdan (“Solo: A Star Wars Story“) and Wendy Mericle (“Arrow“).

Warwick Davis will reprise the title role, Willow Ufgood. The cast also includes Ellie Bamber (‘Northern Animals’), Cailee Spaeny (‘Young Witches – New Sisterhood’) and Erin Kellyman (‘Solo: A Star Wars Story’).

Released in 1988, the original feature film revolved around Willow Ufgood, a dwarf and apprentice magician who aids Madmartigan, an accomplished swordsman, in a war against wizards and monsters. Together, they will have to defeat all of these beings to save a baby (who will later become a princess) from the hands of a terrible queen, Bavmorda. Bavmorda uses black magic to control the kingdom and fears the child, as a prophecy says that will be the reason for his defeat.
