Actor Christopher McDonald, known for his work on “Happy Gilmore” and “The Iron Giant”, will join Marvel in the “Secret Invasion” series.

No details have been revealed about his role, only that he will be a newly created character and may participate in other MCU projects.

According to the Comic Book, several rumors have suggested that the star will bring Norman Osborn, who will become the villainous Green Goblin in the comics, to life.

During an interview with YouTube channel The Movie Dweeb, the star was asked about it and made a secret, saying:

“I don’t know anything, I can’t say anything. I signed a restriction agreement, so I can’t comment on anything other than being confirmed on the show.

Changing the subject, McDonald’s revealed his reaction when he got a call from his agent to take part in the series:

Enjoy watching:

“It was a fun call. My agent and manager called me and said, “Chris, are you sitting down? And I said, ‘I’m in my car on the way home.’ – Yeah, maybe you want to stop. And I said, ‘Wow, what’s going on?’ They told me about the invitation and how Kevin Feige was looking forward to working with me… I was like, “Wow! This is the answer to my prayers because the MCU is at the top of the podium in Hollywood.

He finished:

“Working in the MCU is the dream of an actor like me, so I’m going to London and the shoot should be in a month, if not a month and a half.

With filming set to take place soon, updates on the McDonald’s character shouldn’t be long.

Recall that he already played a satirical version of Norman Osborn in ‘Superhero – The Movie’, a comedy with Drake Bell in 2008.

Scheduled for release in 2022, “Secret Invasion” also features Ben Mendelsohn, Emilia Clarke, Olivia Colman and Kingsley Ben-Adir and Christopher McDonald are also part of the cast.

Check out the first official image from the series, which features Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury:

Remember that Thomas Bezucha and Ali Selim were hired to take charge of the episodes. Bezucha is best known for directing the dramas “Back to Paradise” (2018) and “Let him go”; Selim, in turn, was responsible for the drama miniseries “The Looming Tower” in 2018, as well as overseeing some episodes of “Criminal Minds” and “Manhunt“.

In an interview with Collider, Marvel President Kevin Feige explained why he decided to turn the work into a series rather than a movie.

“We are interested in the political paranoid aspect of Secret Invasion and are really showing off the space with our stars Samuel L. Jackson and Ben Mendelsohn, two amazing actors that you will want to have in any show, and we are very fortunate to have a ‘have them with us. That’s sort of the main focus of this and of course it’s going to tie into other things and the Skrulls in a way you’ve never seen before. But we wanted to do this as a series because it would allow us to do something different than what we’ve done before. ”

It’ll be exciting to see this huge comic book event unfold over six episodes, rather than being reduced to a two-hour movie.

“Just as all humans are not bad, not all humans are good. I think the Skrulls probably have the same range of morals among them, ”Kevin Feige said in an interview with ComicBook in 2019.“ When they get the chance to use their abilities, it’s probably very tempting. It’s interesting to present this concept and see where it takes us.
