Will There Be ‘Winning Time’ Season 3?

No! It’s disappointing to know that Winning Time season 3 is not on the cards. There will not be another season of the thrilling and exciting basketball sports drama. The co-creator of Winning Time Max Borenstein shared his thoughts on the cancellation of the series on social media. He clearly stated that the season two finale wasn’t the ending they had in their mind.

Max said, “Not the ending that we had in mind. But nothing but gratitude and love.”

Even the Showtime author Jeff Pearlman addressed that there should definitely be more seasons. He said, “This saga is not complete and needs to continue. For the actors, the crew, and the storyline. Plus, no f*cking way can a Lakers show end in 1984.”

Why Did ‘Winning Time’ Season 3 Get Canceled?

Winning Time season 3 is canceled mostly because of poor viewership. This is the case in most of the shows and Winning Time is no different. The series did perform great in the initial season.

Pearlman was concerned after the release of the second season about the future of Winning Time.

He said, “I’m telling you — the future of Winning Time hangs in the balance. We need viewers. The strikes are crippling. Please help spread the word. Season 2 is amazing. But… HBO is big on [numbers].”

Pearlman added, “And it’s not about me. I’m fine. It’s about a cast of amazing young actors who live this. So, seriously, tell your friends to support Winning Time and show @hbo you want it to continue.”

He even noted that the viewership of Winning Time was going “up, up, up.” But not enough! Looks like his concern was genuine and the show is now officially canceled.
