As Forza Italia has clarified the party’s position on the war in Ukraine and Putin, the government team is beginning to take shape.
The negotiations are not easy at all, especially with Silvio Berlusconi who claims “equal dignity” vis-à-vis the League and announces the names of his party’s ministers. Giorgia Meloni is rumored to be very angry with Cav’s attitude, after just two days a truce seemed to have been reached via della Scrofa.
The leader of the Brothers of Italy could present the team of ministers to Sergio Mattarella this week, as soon as the institutional procedures in Parliament are completed (today, Wednesday October 19, the vice-presidents, quaestors and secretaries are elected, yesterday the parties chose the group leaders).
The distribution of ministries between the parties
Here is the probable list of ministers.
Economy: the most cited name is that of Giancarlo Giorgetti (Lega). Initially Fabio Panetta was appointed, but he gave his unavailability.
Abroad: the indication is Antonio Tajani (Forza Italia) who could also become Deputy Prime Minister together with Matteo Salvini.
Defense: in the running, the former president of Copasir Adolfo Urso (FdI). But someone would also like it at Mise.
Inside: on pole is the prefect of Rome Matteo Piantedosi, a technical figure in the Lega contingent, he was chief of staff when Salvini was at the Viminale.
Justice: the candidate is Carlo Nordio in part FdI even if Berlusconi claimed the ministry for Elisabetta Casellati.
Economic development: The choice is between Guido Crosetto and Urso (both from FdI). The delegation for energy could go back to Mise (now it’s to Mite).
Ecological transition: at high altitude Forza Italia, it could go to Gilberto Pichetto or alternatively to Crosetto. The senator could also be FI’s name for public administration, after Alessandro Cattaneo became group leader in the House.
Infrastructure: The name in the running is Matteo Salvini, who could also become, as mentioned, Deputy Prime Minister.
Agricultural policies: Gian Marco Centinaio (Lega) is thought out, but a technician is also assumed.
Reforms: Forza Italia with Elisabetta Casellati.
Regional Affairs and Autonomy: Roberto Calderoli (Lega).
Relations with Parliament: so far there has always been talk of Maurizio Lupi (We with Italy) but in recent hours the hypothesis has moved away.
University: Anna Maria Bernini (Forza Italia).
Work: Marina Calderone, FdI altitude technique.
Cultural heritage: Alberto Barachini (Forza Italia) or Giordano Bruno Guerri, technician.
Family and birth rate: Lega with Simona Baldassarre.
Youth policies and sport: Chiara Colosimo of FdI.
Health: Francesco Rocca (president of the CRI) or Guido Bertolaso. Also check the name of Francesco Franceschi (Head of Emergency at the Gemelli Polyclinic).
Training: Giuseppe Valditara (Lega).
Tourism: Daniela Santachè (Brothers of Italy).
European Affairs: Raffaele Fitto (Brothers of Italy).
South: Nello Musumeci (Brothers from Italy).
Handicap: Simona Baldassarri (Lega).
