The second season of Gossip Girl officially has a release date and, among the news, features a beloved character from the original TV series destined to wreak havoc on the plot.
These rumors seem to have come true. When Gossip Girl returns to the small screens of HBO (and Sky in Italy), it will bring with it a welcome novelty. Or rather, it will refresh the charm of a well-known character from the Upper East Side and the original television series, which aired from 2007 to 2012.

Gossip Girl 2, when the new season comes out
Time flies for everyone, including Georgina, though her interest in twisted Upper East Side mechanics doesn’t seem to have changed. Teen Vogue has revealed the release date for the second season of Gossip Girl. It seems that the new episodes will arrive very soon. The start date is set for December 1 on HBO Max (and we think Sky could adapt too, offering it at the same time or a few weeks late). Of course, the cast will be back in full force, so expect to reunite with Zoya, Julien, Obie, Audrey, Max, Monet, Aki, and Luna.

Giving new episodes an extra boost is also the setting. Filming for the second season also involved Italy, specifically Rome. During the summer, the production shot a few scenes that should be linked to the last episode of the second season. And, gem of gems, finally a character who likes to spice up every situation he finds himself in returns. The return of Georgina Sparks seems favorable, as the atmosphere warms up over the second season. Played by Michelle Trachtenberg, Georgina brings chaos with her: everything she touches ends up corrupt and corroded.

Reflecting on his involvement with the reboot show, showrunner Josh Safran told Teen Vogue, “What led to the original series was anarchy, she’s an anarchist. He’ll do anything and for whatever. reason he’ll decide. We brought that energy from the first show to this one as well. Even though she’s grown now, she’s more mature, she has the exact same energy as before.” The Gossip Girl 2 showrunner mentions also her favorite Georgina moment from season 2. “The point where it was introduced has to do with the original series which I love, it’s so funny, and it relates to the characters from the first Gossip Girl.”
