The 2022 data for the number of users shows a decline of around 4 million in the first half of the year, confirming the crisis in the use of the application.

Undermining the primacy of WhatsApp is above all Telegram. To which may be added Twitter. Elon Musk explained that he wanted to create a more comprehensive WeChat-style app that could compete with Zuckerberg’s company’s products.
