Wednesday, why watch Tim Burton’s TV series: 5 reasons

Once again, Tim Burton has appropriated the image on the small screen. Along with a dark, gothic storyline that pays homage to one of pop culture’s notoriously darkest families, the director also made a strong contribution to the animation. And isn’t that perhaps one of the main reasons for recommending the vision? Let’s start with the plot: it is true that it is about the Addams family, but the beating heart is Wednesday who, in the prime of her adolescence, was sent by Morticia and Gomez to a school to outcasts, the Nevermore Academy. Once upon a time, her parents also frequented her and, with these beautiful memories, they thought that this could be the perfect place for her too, to make friends and settle down completely.

The second reason we recommend watching is Jenna Ortega, the actress who plays Wednesday Addams. Perfectly disturbing in her total black looks and her almost never disheveled braids, her interpretation borders on perfection and beats (almost) that of Christina Ricci many years ago. Wednesday is a lonely girl, determined to get what she wants, sadistic and cold-blooded. But he doesn’t have a heart of stone, as he wants you to believe. And Jenna Ortega manages to show all the nuances of her thinking, how her social approach changes and how it evolves. In addition, his character has special powers.

The third reason to watch Wednesday is the narrative structure. It is a mystery television series, with thriller overtones that does not renounce black comedy. Despite being a teenager, set in a high school teeming with teenagers, the plot is balanced between vertical and horizontal storylines. Catherine Zeta Jones fell perfectly into the sultry appearance of Morticia and, along with Uncle Fester, is perhaps the most satisfying character. Excluding Mano, of course.
