According to Deadline, Allison Janney (‘Me, Tonya’, ‘Cross Stories’) has been cast to star in ‘True Love’, the new science fiction movie directed and written by Gareth Edwards (‘Rogue One: A Story Star Wars’) .
Although details of her character have not been revealed, Janney joins John David Washington, Gemma Chan, Danny McBride and Benedict Cumberbatch.
So far, there isn’t much information about the project, described only as “an ambitious sci-fi story set in the near future.”
In addition to writing and directing, Edwards will also be one of the producers, along with Kiri Hart (“Soul”) representing New Regency.
As the project is still in its early stages, updates are expected to be released in the coming months.
Janney is one of today’s most respected actresses and has already made her mark in film, television and the theater. She has won four Emmy Awards for her incredible performance in the series “The West Wing”, as well as other awards for the productions “Masters of Sex” and “Mom”. In 2018, she received the Oscar for Best Supporting Actress for the biopic “Eu, Tonya”.
