‘Top Gun: Maverick’: Tom Cruise was Banned by the US Navy from making an action scene

Tom Cruise is known for making the most dangerous and craziest action scenes in his films, but this time he has gone too far.

The actor was barred by the US Navy from flying an actual F-18 fighter jet for the “ Top Gun ” sequel, according to one of the film’s producers.

Producer Jerry Bruckheimer revealed to Empire that the actor was banned from directing the scene.

“Tom wanted to make sure the actors could actually be in the F-18s while the footage was being filmed – but making him fly one was, apparently, irresponsible. The Navy did not let him fly an F-18. But he flies a P-51 in the movie and helicopters. He can do just about anything on an airplane, ”he said.

In the end, Cruise and some of his castmates filmed scenes inside the plane as skilled pilots took care of the flight.

Bruckheimer said the film will allow viewers to “experience what it feels like in an F-18, inside the cockpit.”

“Top Gun: Maverick” had its premiere scheduled for July 22 in Brazil.

After more than 30 years in the service of the Navy as one of the greatest fighter pilots, Pete “Maverick” Mitchell (Tom Cruise) remains on active duty, refusing to rise through the ranks and stop doing what ‘he likes the most, that is to say to fly. While forming a group of pilots in training for a special mission that no “Top Gun” in life has ever been on, he meets Bradley Bradshaw (Miles Teller), who goes by the nickname “Rooster”, the son of Maverick’s late friend, Officer Nick Bradshaw (Anthony Edwards), known as “Goose”.
