Broadway’s hit musical “Mean Girls” (based on the eponymous 2004 film) will hit theaters!
Tina Fey, who wrote the screenplay for the original feature film and theatrical production, gave details about the adaptation in an interview with Variety.
“I am very excited to see ‘Mean Girls’ on the big screen again,” she said in an official statement. “It was very gratifying to see how the film and the musical marked a generation. I spent sixteen years with these characters. They are my Marvel Universe and I love them deeply. ”
The new version of the well-known story will be produced by Paramount Pictures.
Released sixteen years ago, “Mean Girls” has become a classic in the teenage comedy genre and has cast names like Lindsay Lohan, Rachel McAdams, Amy Poehler, Amanda Seyfried and Fey.
