Visionary Tim Burton was a guest at Lucca Comics & Games 2022 during the European preview of the 1st episode on Wednesday. The highly anticipated TV series he directed which will arrive on Netflix on November 23 will feature Jenna Ortega, Christina Ricci, Catherine Zeta Jones and Gwendoline Christie, among others.
After the press conference at the prestigious Teatro del Giglio in Lucca (also available on YouTube), Tim Burton greeted the audience in Piazza San Michele. More than 8,000 people are waiting for it on Wednesday, including fans and cosplayers (honored by wearing the iconic and inimitable braided wig) and the entire Addams family. The director also participated, on the evening of October 31, in front of an audience of 500 fans at the Cinema Moderno. His arrival is aimed at the European preview broadcast of the 1st episode on Wednesday.

Tim Burton: What to Expect from Wednesday, European Premiere at Lucca Comics & Games
Wednesday, an 8-episode television series, is a mystery with investigative and supernatural tones that traces Wednesday Addams’ years as a student at Nevermore Academy. The show – Tim Burton’s first – will also chronicle attempts to control his paranormal powers, to thwart a monstrous series of murders that terrifies the local community, and to solve the mystery that implicated his parents 25 years ago. All while exploring new and complicated relationships at Nevermore.

In the lead role on Wednesday Addams will be Jenna Ortega, flanked by Gwendoline Christie (Lead Larissa Weems), Jamie McShane (Sheriff Galpin), Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay), Naomi J Ogawa (Yoko Tanaka), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene Ottinger), Georgie Farmer (Ajax Petropolus), Riki Lindhome (Dr Valerie Kinbott) and Christina Ricci (Marilyn Thornhill). The other famous members of the Addams family will instead be Catherine Zeta-Jones (Morticia Addams), Luis Guzmán (Gomez Addams), Isaac Ordonez (Pugsley Addams) and Fred Armisen (Uncle Fester).
Tim Burton, who in his career has delighted global audiences with iconic films such as – among others – Beetlejuice – Sprite Pig, Batman, Edward Scissorhands, The Nightmare Before Christmas, Ed Wood, The Mystery of Sleepy Hollow, Big Fish – The Stories of an Incredible Life, The Corpse Bride, Sweeney Todd – The Devilish Barber of Fleet Street, The Chocolate Factory, Frankenweenie, direct the first 4 episodes of the television series, created by Alfred Gough & Miles Miller. The series will be available on Netflix from November 23.
