The story is described as a Viking saga set in Iceland in the 10th century, which will involve a journey of revenge.
The cast includes Alexander Skarsgård, Nicole Kidman, Anya Taylor-Joy, Ethan Hawke, Claes Bang, Kate Dickie, Bjork and Willem Dafoe.
Eggers is also in charge of the screenplay alongside poet and novelist Sjón.
In an interview with Screen Daily, cinematographer Jarin Blaschke gave details of the terror:
“This film will be bigger than the previous ones. I can say it will be a Viking revenge plot and we will be filming in Europe. It will be dark and violent.
