The 11th and FINAL season of “The Walking Dead” will begin on August 22, but since the plot will be divided into three parts of eight episodes each, the season finale will not be released until 2022.
And, during an interview with Deadline, showrunner Angela Kang said that the last episode of the entire series is already planned, but not written yet.
“No. We haven’t written the final episode yet. But everything is already planned because the studio and the broadcaster [AMC] they wanted to make sure everything was already done so that we didn’t go out of line or invent anything out of schedule.
And since the main characters from the comics, such as Michonne (Danai Gurira) or Carl (Chandler Riggs) and Rick Grimes (Andrew Lincoln) are not here, the end of the series will not be similar to the original material written by Robert Kirkman. .
“In the series, we have such a different lineup of characters from the end of the comic… Andrew [Lincoln] came out for family reasons, we have several cast members who are also gone, we have characters like Carol (Melissa McBride) who is from the start as well as the character from the comics. We have Daryl (Norman Reedus), who doesn’t even exist in the comics… So I naturally think there’s this process where part of the history of the comics no longer applies to what we see. in adaptation.
While waiting for further updates, watch last season’s trailer:
“The story is epic and will bring several twists and turns. Let’s give the audience a dignified and prolonged goodbye that will live up to the series and its 10 years on the air, ”producer Scott Gimple said during the broadcast. [email protected]
