According to Bloody Disgusting, Mark Burnham (“ Lowlife ”) will play the iconic Leatherface in the new reboot of the Chainsaw Massacre franchise, which will bring an older version of the villain.
Originally, Leatherface was played by Gunnar Hansen, but several actors took on the role as sequences, remakes, and reboots continued. Bill Johnson played the villain in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2”; RA Mihailoff in “Leatherface – The Chainsaw Massacre 3”; Robert Jacks in “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre – The Return”; Andrew Bryniarski in the 2003 remake and its subsequent prequel; Dan Yeager in “The Chainsaw Massacre 3D: The Legend Continues”; and Sam Strike in “Texas Massacre”.
It should be remembered that the legendary Sally Hardesty, the sole survivor of the original film, will return in the new film. The character will be played by Olwen Fouéré (“Contagion on the high seas”).
Sadly, the actress who starred in the 1974 feature film Marilyn Burns passed away in 2014. The actress came to make an appearance as a new character in “The Chainsaw Massacre 3D: The Legend Continues”.
Previously, producer Fede Alvarez (“Death of the Demon”) confirmed that the new film would be a direct sequel to the original feature film, directed by Tobe Hooper.
“It will be a direct sequence, with the same character. We will see an older Leatherface.
He adds: “Everything will be classic, like in the old movies. Our approach is similar to the reboot of ‘Death of the Demon’ – making everything real, without visual effects. It’s an old-fashioned approach to the genre. Vintage lenses … it will look a lot like the original movie. ”

Still without a premiere date, the reboot is expected to launch in 2021.

Fede Álvarez, director of “The Death of the Demon” and “The Man in the Dark”, will be the producer of the new version.
