“ The Queen’s Gambit ”: the Netflix series will receive a musical version for the theater!

After breaking viewing records and winning several awards at home, the acclaimed miniseries ” The Queen’s Gambit”, from Netflix, will win a musical version (via ComicBook.com).

Last Monday, March 8, the Level Forward company revealed that it had acquired the intellectual rights to the work, with the intention of turning the story into a play.

So far, no name has been associated with the project.

“It is a privilege for Level Forward to bring ‘O Gambito da Rainha’ to the stage through the art of musical theater,” commented company CEO Adrienne Becker and producer Julia Dunetz. “Told through an entirely new perspective, audiences are already sharing the friendship and fortune of the stories that energize and support Beth Harmon’s journey and triumph.”

The series is based on the novel of the same name by Walter Trevis, released in 1983.

What to do when all that’s left is victory? “O Gambito da Rainha” describes the rise of a young chess prodigy from orphanage to glory. But genius comes at a price.

Anya Taylor-Joy (“The New Mutants“, “Fragmented”) stars in the production. Bill Camp, Marielle Heller, Thomas Brodie-Sangster, Moses Ingram, Harry Melling and more complete the cast.
