According to Variety, singer The Weeknd will star in the new HBO series called “The Idol.”
The series was created by Sam Levinson (“Euphoria”), alongside The Weeknd and Reza Fahim. The three will also serve as executive producers on the potential series.
The production will revolve around a pop singer who begins a romance with the mysterious owner of the Los Angeles club, who is also the leader of a secret sect.
It has not been confirmed what the role of The Weeknd will be, but it can be assumed that he will play the club owner.
Although this is his first experience as an actor in a live production, the singer has already signed the script for an episode of the animated film “American Dad!” , Where he also made an appearance and contributed an original song.
