Looks like we have some disappointing news for ‘The Goldbergs’ enthusiasts. We now have some official information about the show’s future. The Goldbergs is an incredible series with a fantastic storyline centered on beloved characters.
The story has consistently impressed audiences for over a decade. Many spectators regard The Goldbergs as more of a family. This sitcom is premised on Goldberg’s childhood and family in the 1980s and features a younger version of himself.
The Goldbergs follows the adventures of a young member of a dysfunctional family. He recalls his upbringing with his domineering mother, fiery father, rebellious older sister, high-strung older brother, and suave grandfather.
It’s like a lot of drama mixed with a lot of fun. Let’s look into the recent developments.
The Goldbergs, according to official reports, is coming to an end. It was announced on February 23, 2023, that the tenth season would be the final season, with the May 3 final episode serving as a series finale.
It’s time to say farewell to the dysfunctional and humourous family.
Craig Erwich, president of ABC Entertainment, Hulu, and Disney Branded Television Streaming Originals, stated that they are looking forward to celebrating the end [the goldbergs] of their journey.
“We are so proud of the 10 years we were able to spend with The Goldbergs. This is an incredible team and we’re so thankful for the joy and entertainment they brought to so many over this time. We look forward to celebrating their final chapter along with the fans in the weeks ahead.”
McLendon-Covey said, “It’s been an honor to be part of The Goldbergs for the last decade. I’m really proud of what we accomplished with the show, and I’m so lucky to have had such a rewarding experience.
I will miss my TV family and every last crew member. Thanks to our brilliant writers for giving us thoughtful story arcs year after year, and for being so collaborative. Thanks to the best EPs in the business.
And thanks to all our fans [the Goldnerds] for being so sweet and supportive. My heart is full… But I definitely hope I never see another pair of shoulder pads for the rest of my life.”
And it’s not surprising that the series is coming to an end because it had its longest run.
‘Tons Of Momentum Rolling Into This New Season’
There’s a lot to look forward to in the finale season, as indicated by the co-showrunners, this season has a lot of momentum spinning into it.
Co-showrunner Alex Barnow hinted about the finale season, “This is going to be a family that has not reconciled the fact that their father’s gone but has sort of moved on and has dealt with a lot of that.
So we’re starting with optimism about a baby coming and looking forward to the future. It’s an opportunity for this interesting emotional basis for the way people are behaving.”
Co-showrunner Chris Bishop added, “It honestly feels like a huge reboot for us. So we have tons of momentum rolling into this new season.”
Alex Barnow also mentioned being exhausted by long season episodes, but this season is different and amazing.
He said, “It’s been many chapters. [Laughs] You could take it into like little chunks of time, like the first four years, the next four years — it’s been a big part of our lives, obviously, but it feels really great.
I think we’ve come from sort of periods of exhaustion, doing 22 episodes a season, which is unusual [for shows] at this point. There have been times at the end of seasons where we’re like, ‘Oh my God, how are we going to keep going?’
But this year especially, we feel really revitalized and excited about it. Stories are coming easily, and it’s been a good year so far.”
