In an interview with ET, Salma Hayek said that the feature film ‘The Eternals‘, in which she will play Ajak, the leader of the heroes, will be very different from the previous films already released by Marvel.
“I believe the film has its own DNA in the Marvel Universe. It will be different [dos outros filmes do MCU]. It was run by a woman [Zhao] and we didn’t shoot most of the scenes in the studio. We shot in real locations, which is unusual for Marvel. I’m very excited about the film, because it definitely has a special energy that makes it unique.
She adds: “I’m very excited because I love my character and I love the cast.”
Marvel Studios Creative Director Kevin Feige previously praised the work of director Chloe Zhao, explaining why he picked her for the role.
The producer also said the adaptation will be overwhelming and will have centuries-old significance in terms of historical context.
“Chloe is able to make small films that have become remarkable and impactful because she thinks in grandiose and cosmic terms, which fits perfectly with what we wanted to do in ‘The Eternals’. He had the best possible idea for the story … the best I have ever heard.
He continued:
“The Eternals” is a film of great magnitude in historical terms, it will have a secular scope and it will take your breath away. Chloe just crossed the finish line and understood our proposal for the film.
