“Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” will be released in a few months and will show a conflict between two great nations – Wakanda and Talocan. In an interview at D23 Expo this weekend shared on Marvel’s official Instagram, Tenoch Huerta summed up what we can expect from Namor, the Prince Under the Sea.
“My character is Namor and that’s what people can expect from Namor. He protects his people all the time. He watches over them and is able to do whatever it takes to protect them. If he has to push back limits, he will,” Huerta said.
Namor will be very much in line with the character’s personality from the comics, fans can expect changes in both his looks and origins. The trailer revealed a version of Namor inspired by Aztec culture and myth. At the Los Angeles Times, the actor confided in these physical changes to the character.
“This new release responds to that time and how that world has changed. So for me it was natural and beautiful. It could have been any dark-skinned Latin actor, but I get it. I love it, and I’m the man. I am Namor now!”
On the story of “Black Panther 2,” Tenoch Huerta shared how fans will see Wakanda in a different light thanks to Namor’s introduction, which even relates to the cultural turmoil people see in real life.
Have fun watching:
“You will see them in the light of…confrontation. We don’t get along. But, it’s funny, in the end, they have a lot in common. It depicts what is happening here in the United States, from my point of view, among the minorities of this country. I think at some point we have to come together and create this different thing,” he said.
Who continued: “In our version, it feels much more real than fiction. In the style of the MCU, we root it in real cultural meaning and cultural traditions. You see the Latino contingent that is present visually. Ryan Coogler’s creation in the Marvel cinematic landscape is a profound honor and a connection to real things. So I think a lot of people will see themselves represented.
Regarding working with Tenoch Huerta, Duke said, “On set, he shows up and I’m like, ‘Wow!’, but he looked up to us. I was like, ‘It’s you!’ He was a mutual admiration and a welcome new member to the MCU.
