‘Superman’: fans react to reboot, call for Henry Cavill’s return, film with black Superman

The Hollywood Reporter today announced that “Superman” will be winning a reboot in theaters, which will be produced by JJ Abrams and is set to feature the Black Superman story.

On Twitter, fans celebrated the news and asked for TWO movies, one with the return of Henry Cavill:

Since dreaming is free, I want a Henry Cavill Superman movie at #DCEU and a Calvin Ellis Superman movie on Earth 2 (land of #TheBatman). For me that would be ideal!

With this news of the new Superman movie, it’s really possible that they’ll be making a movie about Cavil Ellis, Superman on Earth-23.

Also, I think “The Flash” should revamp part of the DCEU.

A new Superman movie is in development.

Ta-Nehisi Coates will write the screenplay, which will feature JJ Abrams’ production.

It’s unclear if Henry Cavill will return or if the film will feature a new Superman.

Warner spoke to actor Michael B. Jordan (‘Creed’) for years to take over the costume that will be left behind by Henry Cavill.

“There is a powerful and moving new Superman story that has yet to be told. We couldn’t be more excited to work with brilliant screenwriter Ta-Nehisi Coates to help bring this story to the big screen and we are so grateful to the Warner Bros. team. for the opportunity, ”said JJ Abrams.

The project will be written by famed Ta-Nehisi Coates – who scripted the “Black Panther” and “Captain America” comics for Marvel.

“To be invited to DC Extended Universe by Warner Bros., DC Films and Bad Robot is an honor,” Coates said in a statement on Shadow and Act, a site dedicated to the African diaspora in the arts. “I look forward to adding significantly to the legacy of America’s most iconic mythical hero.”

Despite the negotiations, the actor warned the studio that he would only agree to commit to the role of Superman if he realizes the studio’s true commitment to the character itself.

In an interview with presenter Oprah Winfrey, Jordan revealed which version of Man of Steel he’d like to experience in theaters.

He said he would rather bring Calvin Ellis (Earth-23 Superman) to life than play Clark Kent:

“It’s complicated. I hate being an entrepreneur and understanding both sides of it. There is a huge advantage in that, but being under that microscope and being compared to so many different versions of Superman … I would love to. do something original. I’d be Calvin Ellis. There’s another Superman from Earth-23. A version […] in another dimension that is black in the comics … It exists.
