It’s no secret that fans of the “Star Wars” saga weren’t happy with the romantic relationship between Rey (Daisy Ridley) and Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) in “The Rise of Skywalker”.
It turns out that the seeds of this relationship had already been planted in “The Last Jedi” (the previous film), but in a more subtle way.
On her Twitter profile, writer Sariah Wilson (“ The Friend Zone ”) revealed that she spoke to director Rian Johnson and he said the bond between the two characters should be more romantic.
In one of the posts, she says that:
“If anyone is wondering if Reylo (Rey + Kylo) was meant to be romantic or not, you can stop speculating. Rian [Johnson] I saw them absolutely as a romance.

For those who don’t remember, that connection came when Kylo and Rey discovered that they could enter each other’s minds, and from there emerged several theories that fans hoped to be a couple. .
