Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) appeared in the post-credits scene of “Spider-Man: Never Going Home” transported to his universe, leaving behind part of Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) universe symbiote.
Despite that, we still don’t know if the next Spider-Man movie will show him in a black suit.
According to the Heavy Spoilers channel, it seems that Marvel plans to adapt this arc only at the end of the next hero trilogy.
But it looks like Marvel Studios has big plans for Venom ahead of the 2018 film’s release, produced by Sony Pictures, which owns the rights to the character.
Apparently Holland’s Spider movies have a connection to the symbiote after the hero went to space in “Avengers: Infinity War.”
Take the time to watch:
The feature would serve to initiate the connection with the hero and the alien creature, giving birth to Venom.
Since the idea was scrapped by Sony, Kevin Feige didn’t allow Parker to make appearances in the Symbiote movies, and that was one of the reasons that led to the Sony vs. Marvel fight in 2019.
While the new deal signed in this one may have opened the door to potential crossovers, Spider-Man will remain exclusive as an MCU character.
Recall that ‘Venom 3’ has been confirmed by Sony and will be directed by Kelly Marcel, who wrote and produced the first two films in the franchise.
For those who don’t remember, the 2018 film was directed by Ruben Fleischer, while the sequel was helmed by Andy Serkis.
In addition to Marcel, Hardy also joins as a producer on the final chapter of the trilogy.
The star has already indicated that the script for the third “Venom” movie is ready, so much so that he’s already memorizing his lines. The actor will return as Eddie Brock in Sony’s Spider-Man villain universe film.
“Venom” won a solo film in 2018, which ended up smashing the global box office, grossing US$856 million worldwide. The sequel, “Venom: Time of Carnage” (2021) brought Woody Harrelson as the psychopath Cletus Kasady.
