‘Sonic 3’ and ‘Avatar 3’ are scheduled for US premieres on the same day; Which are you going to watch?

December 2024 will officially mark the battle of the blues, as “Sonic 3” and “Avatar 3” will square off at the box office.

Both sequels will hit US theaters on December 20, 2024, and it’ll be up to fans to decide which theater to pick up first.

Naturally, Twitter users were forced to choose sides, with many comments in favor of the family adventure comedy:

The second installment in the “Sonic” franchise grossed over $400 million at the global box office. In the United States, the production grossed $190.8 million – which exceeds the gross of the first film ($148.9 million), breaking the record for the biggest box office for a movie based on a game video in the country. In the international market, it was US$211 million.

In total, the film has already grossed $402.2 million worldwide.

After settling in Green Hills, Sonic is ready for more freedom, and Tom (James Marsden) and Maddie (Tika Sumpter) agree to leave him at home while they go on vacation. But as soon as they leave, Dr. Robotnik (Jim Carrey) returns, this time with a new partner: Knuckles. The duo search for an emerald that has the power to build and destroy civilizations. Sonic teams up with his own mate, Tails, and together they embark on a journey to find the Emerald before it falls into the wrong hands.

First released in 1991, the “Sonic” game has sold over 360 million copies across various formats.
