Slipknot drummer and founder dies at 46

Drummer and founder of heavy metal band Slipknot, Joey Jordison, died last Monday (26). The cause of his death had not been revealed.

In an official statement, his family mourned the untimely loss of the acclaimed artist:

“We are heartbroken to share the news that prolific drummer, musician and artist Joey Jordison passed away peacefully in his sleep on July 26th. He was 46 years old “.

Jordison helped found Iowa heavy metal band Slipknot alongside Shawn Crahan and Paul Gray in the mid-1990s, with copies sold in 2000.
