Review | 365 Last days – Brochante, the trilogy ends without end and without laughter

One of the most controversial films of the pandemic was certainly “365 days”, which told the story of a woman who had been kidnapped by an Italian gangster who simply thought he was in love with her and, over time days she fell in love with him. The film revolted therapists, feminists and sexologists around the world. Then came the sequel, in early 2022, called “365 Days: Today”, which basically had no story and was a compilation of lavish scenes of cheap porn with whispers muffled by loud music, and it got even more irritated the public. , who waited to find out if the girl survived the cliff crash. Now, Netflix is releasing the promised final part of the trilogy, titled “Last 365 Days,” which, despite the title, doesn’t end the saga.

After surviving the assassination attempt, Laura (Anna-Maria Sieklucka) returns to live at the mansion of Massimo (Michele Morrone), who watches her closely for fear that Nacho (Simone Susinna) will reappear and the two will trigger a war between the two. Italian mafia families. But so much control suffocates Laura, who decides to take a break and go with her best friend, Elena (Blanka Lipinska), to Portugal, focusing on her work as a stylist. But getting away from it all isn’t enough for Laura, who can’t seem to forget the tender time she spent with Nacho, and now she has to make a final decision about who she wants to spend the time with. rest of his life.

The good thing about ‘365 Final Days’ is that unlike its predecessor, this film has a story. Ok, it may be bad, but hey, there are dialogues, acting scenes, different locations, plots that want to go somewhere, etc. It sounds silly, but in such a controversial project, every small victory should be celebrated.

Despite a story, the screenplay by Barbara Bialowas, Tomasz Mandes, Tomasz Klimala and Blanka Lipinska (by the way, the feature film is based on his books, which came to Brazil last month for the São Paulo Book Biennial) does not really cares only about fitting the plot of the book into luxurious settings with all the best and best, in an effort to make up for in the production what it lacks in the story. And just like in the previous films, this one also overdoes it on certain points. It makes it look like the writers have a great idea and decide to work it into the production as much as possible, rehearsing it until they get tired. Thus, in this one, most of the scenes take place at sunset, for example, even though it was supposed to be daytime; and that Massimo becomes excessively asshole, just to make Nacho cool, becoming a free boor, a drug addict and a taster of women as if they were objects; and that best friend, Elena (who is, in fact, played by the author of the book), more than comic relief becomes an annoying, vexing drunk, unable to come on stage without dropping things and making comments stupid. Because?

Have fun watching:

At least the whole thing, despite the bad story, is well directed by Barbara Bialowas and Tomasz Mandes, especially the (few) sex scenes, which also include an alleged household of the protagonists and a song very similar to the voice of Anitta in the beach scene; although she does not appear in the credits, the Brazilian singer posted a photo with the most beautiful on her instagram.

Despite the slight improvement, ‘365 Final Days’ is boring. It does not end the headless saga of the characters and leaves Laura’s choice up to the viewer. This means that it is a lot of investment for, in the end, not to make us benefit.

Don’t forget to watch:
