According to Variety, Paul Dano, known for his work on “ Black Blood ” and the upcoming “ The Batman, ” meets acclaimed director Steven Spielberg for a biopic loosely based on the director’s own childhood.
Damage will be the fictionalized version of Steven’s father, Arnold Spielberg.
Michelle Williams (“Manchester In Beira-Mar”) and Seth Rogen (“An American Pickle”) are also part of the cast. Williams will bring a character inspired by Spielberg’s mother to life, while Rogen is tied up to play the filmmaker’s favorite uncle.
The feature film will be set in the late 1950s and early 1960s, around the time Steven began directing his first films with a Super8 camera.
The director also co-wrote the screenplay alongside Oscar nominee Tony Kushner (“Munich”, “Lincoln“).
Filming begins in the summer of the United States, which is slated for release in 2022.
