Some fans were wary of the passage of time, as Furhman is now 25, but the preview showed the actress remains compelling in the role.

In the first film, Esther is a 33-year-old woman named Leena Klammer, who suffers from hypopituitarism – a rare hormonal disorder that has stunted her physical growth and caused proportionate dwarfism. She spent most of her life pretending to be a little girl.
In the sequel, Lena Klammer orchestrates a brilliant escape from a Russian psychiatric unit and travels to the United States posing as the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Lena’s new life as Esther comes with an unexpected problem and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at all costs.
Isabelle Fuhrman returns to play Esther.
The film already has its age rating. The MPAA has rated the horror RATED-R, and it can only be watched by people over the age of 17.
The reason? “Bloody Violence, Language, and Brief Sexual Content”.
In terms of comparison, it was about the same rating the original horror received in 2009.
The prequel will be directed by William Brent Bell (“Evil Doll”), with a screenplay written by David Coggeshall.
The original film was released in 2009 and was directed by Jaume Collet-Serra.
Despite considerable noise at the box office (grossing nearly $80 million), the production received mixed reception from critics, reaching a 56% approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
