Legendary presenter Silvio Santos has blasted the new Star Plus biographical series about his story, titled ‘O Rei da TV’.
The production premiered on November 19 in the Star + catalog and stood out for showing the weaknesses of one of the greatest presenters of Brazilian television.
However, Silvio Santos felt the series was “very poorly done”.
“It’s not good and it’s not bad. It’s half a joke. They could do much better,” Silvio said in an interview with the G7 Notícias channel, by journalist Lucas Padula, last Sunday (30).
He was on his way home to vote in the second round of presidential elections in the Morumbi region of São Paulo. Silvio was accompanied by his wife, Íris Abravanel, and three of his daughters, Patrícia Abravanel, Rebeca Abravanel and Daniela Beyruti.
Have fun watching:
Renata Abravanel, the presenter’s youngest daughter and executive director of SBT, had voted in the same place earlier and was also approached by the channel to comment on the series. She revealed that she hadn’t watched it so declined to comment.
The production was released on October 19 on the streaming platform.
Remember the trailer:
The trailer shows several moments in the life of Senor Abravanel, from his days as a street vendor on the streets of Rio de Janeiro, through the beginnings of Baú da Felicidade, to his successful years as a owner of SBT.
With José Rubens Chachá as the old version of Silvio Santos, O Rei da TV has Leona Cavalli, Natália Lima, Emílio de Mello and Gui Santana in the cast.
