Actress Nádia Carvalho, who dubbed Brazilian versions of iconic characters such as stylist Edna Moda, from ‘The Incredibles’, and Lin Beifong, from ‘Avatar: The Legend of Korra’, died on Monday (11). Nadia died at the age of 67.
The news was confirmed this afternoon by fellow voice actors, who also paid tribute to the artist’s work. The cause of death has not yet been officially released.
It should be remembered that, like Edna Moda, Nádia immortalized the slogan “no cover!”, uttered by the gruff character to Mr. Incredible, the moment he imagines a new costume for the hero. The sentence was so marked among Brazilians that it was even used as a meme among viewers of the last season of “The Boys”.
And other notable roles in the voice actor’s more than three-decade career include Aunt Vivian, from “A Nutshell,” and appearances on “Ice Age” and “Mulan.”
Nádia Carvalho was also an actress, working in several comedy projects on open television, such as Escolinha do Professor Raimundo, where she played Santinha Purity, and Zorra Total.
