Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd starred in the “Back to the Future” trilogy between 1985 and 1990, immortalizing characters Marty McFly and eccentric inventor Dr. Brown on their adventures through time.
Even though the plot is perfectly balanced and conclusive, many fans are asking for new sequels and even an updated reboot for today.
And, during an interview with ET Online, Fox was asked if he would support a reboot of the trilogy.
In response, he said he loved seeing new movies, but this time featuring a woman.
“I actually thought about it, and if they did the movie again, they should do it with a girl playing Marty.”

He went on to say that he hopes it happens one day.
“There is something about the franchise that connects people at all levels. And I have a feeling it’s going to happen again. »
A few years ago, screenwriter Bob Gale was asked about this and explained to Comic Book why a reboot should never happen.
And the answer was quite simple!
“A lot of people have told me I should write a time travel series based on the trilogy, but ‘Back to the Future’ isn’t just a time travel story…which some people don’t always understand is that the movie is about a family story with elements of time travel, the fiction is just a side gimmick and what matters is the arc of McFly.”
He went on to say that:
“What drew so many fans to the trilogy were the characters. This family plot makes us think, ‘My God, my parents were once kids too.’ When you are five or six years old, your parents appear as divine and wise figures, it seems that they never age or have never been naive like you… with what you lived with.
After that statement, it’s already more than clear that the new films in the franchise won’t have the same impact on audiences as the original films, and fans should be happy with the trilogy.
So, was the answer enough for you?
Considered a milestone in cinema, the “Back to the Future” trilogy (Robert Zemeckis) remains acclaimed by millions of fans and expert critics.
In total, the films managed to earn $965.8 million at the worldwide box office.
Recalling that the last film in the franchise was released in 1990 and garnered 80% approval on Rotten Tomatoes.
