Among the first measures of the Meloni government in the CDM are the intervention on life imprisonment and the postponement of penal reform. But also the end of the vaccination obligation for health personnel.

Not only. There is the line – very hard – on the rave parties and the final composition of the executive with the choice of deputy ministers and undersecretaries. The Meloni government faces its first real Council of Ministers by approving a series of measures on several fronts. The hope, explained the Prime Minister on October 31, is the time that “in the next CDM there will also be the first measures on energy”. Pending the next meeting between ministers, the date should be November 4, these are the first measures adopted by the executive.

New approach to Covid

Among the measures of the Meloni government, as mentioned, the green light from the Council of Ministers to the decree-law which also contains regulations on anti-Covid vaccination obligations. The text, we read in the official press release of Palazzo Chigi, “modifies the provisions in force regarding the obligation of vaccination, taking into account the change in the epidemiological framework”. In particular, “the expiration of the vaccination obligation for personnel exercising health professions, for workers employed in accommodation, social and socio-sanitary protection structures and for the personnel of structures carrying out health and medico-social”.

Rave parties

Following the unauthorized gathering, in a disused warehouse near Modena, of thousands of young people, including from abroad, the decree also regulates so-called rave parties. The Meloni government changed “the rules relating to the invasion of land or buildings, public or private, by providing for a prison sentence of 3 to 6 years and a fine of 1,000 to 10,000 euros. If the offense is committed by more than 50 people with the aim of organizing a gathering that may endanger public order or public security or public health. In the event of conviction or application of the sentence at the request of the parties, the confiscation of the things used to commit the crime is provided for”.

Government Meloni, the undersecretaries

Finally, the Council of Ministers appointed 39 under-secretaries, within the limits set by the legislation in force. Among the new undersecretaries of the Meloni government, 8 will assume the functions of deputy minister. Fratelli d’Italia, the main majority party, won 18 posts between deputy ministers and undersecretaries (7 women and 11 men). La Lega has 11 places (3 women and 8 men), while Forza Italia 8 (3 women and 5 men). Of a total of 39 names, there are 13 women, or exactly one third. Among the best-known names are Edmondo Cirielli (FdI), Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs; Nicola Molteni (Lega), Inside. Vittorio Sgarbi at Culture with Lucia Borgonzoni (Lega). Isabella Rauti (FdI) in defence. Alberto Barachini (Forza Italia) editing. Edoardo Rixi (Lega) and Galeazzo Bignami (FdI) Deputy Ministers of Infrastructure. The latter found himself in the whirlwind of controversy – already in the electoral campaign – for a photo broadcast on social networks which represents him in a black shirt with the Nazi swastika.
