We had already talked about it but now it seems official: the fourth season of My Brilliant Friend has found the ideal face for the “new” Lila. The co-star of the acclaimed series based on Elena Ferrante’s bestsellers was Gaia Girace for three seasons. From now on, for the adult version, a new performer will take her place.
The highly anticipated fourth season of My Brilliant Friend is currently filming. Production will likely last until August 2023, which is why the release won’t be set until 2024. Nonetheless, rumors continue to swirl about it, one of which answered the biggest question left open: who? will play Raffaella “Lila” Cerullo as an adult? If the third season finale, A Story of Those Who Fled and Those Who Remain, revealed – even if not too surprisingly – that the next chapter’s Elena “Lenù” Greco will be Alba Rohrwacher – already the series’ narrator – no one had known anything for sure about Lila. So far, at least: the name of the new co-protagonist has indeed been revealed.

My Brilliant Friend 4 – Story of the lost child: here’s who will be the adult “Lila”
The indiscretion began due to a post shared by the social profiles of Rocchetti & Rocchetti, which makes wigs for the entertainment world. And, among the productions he takes care of, My Brilliant Friend also stands out. Precisely following a plan, in which two parcels are shown with the names of Lila and Elena written on them, the identity of the actress who will take the place of Gaia Girace has been revealed: her name is revealed.
We are talking about Irene Maiorino, whose name had already leaked, thanks also to the incredible resemblance to the young interpreter of Lila from previous seasons. He already has several successful titles for the small screen to his credit, including the Sky 1994 series, I Bastardi di Pizzo Falcone, Gomorrah and Il Commissario Ricciardi. The fourth season of my brilliant friend will officially be the last and will close the narrative arc of Lila and Lenù, which began in 2018 on the small screen. As we know, the show will be based on the last chapter of the literary tetralogy, born from the pen of Elena Ferrante, History of the lost child, and will consist of a narrative that will span several decades, until 2010. … and traumatic events await the two protagonists, during what is about to be one of the most anticipated series of the coming months. And who, finally, has found his Lila.
